Here at The Language of Canines, we offer a wide range of training programs to give your dog the social skills (aka manners) it needs to successfully co-exist with family members, other pets, and people in the home and out in public. Scroll down the page to review class descriptions.

 Puppy Classes

"A Well Trained Puppy, Makes a Well-Behaved Dog"

Our puppy classes are designed for puppies 10 weeks to 5 months of age, and gives your dog a head-start into adulthood. We use positive reward-based training to create the ideal learning environment. Your puppy will learn basic commands such as, watch me, sit, down, and leave it. Your puppy will learn a solid recall and bite inhibition, and will be exposed to marker (clicker) training. You will learn how to motivate your puppy for the best training results.

Class Duration: 6 Weeks

Prerequisites: None

Basic Obedience 

"Back to Basics"

Our basic obedience classes are tailor-made for dogs from 6 months and up and are designed to provide a solid foundation for dogs that have not had previous obedience training. Your dog will learn basic commands such as sit, down, off, leave it, watch me, and stay. You will learn how to use markers to communicate with your dog, as well as loose-leash walking skills, and polite greeting behaviors.

Class Duration: 6 Weeks

Intermediate Obedience

"A Trained Dog is Not Your Average Dog"

Our intermediate level obedience classes are a perfect fit for dogs that have a strong foundation in the basic commands.  This class focuses on the "3 D's" Distance, Distraction, and Duration. Your dog will learn to follow commands from a distance, hold their commands longer, and perform more reliably under stressful conditions.

Class Duration: 6 Weeks  

Prerequisites: Completion of basic obedience class or permission from the trainer.

Advanced Obedience

"Boy, I wish My Dog Could Do That!"

Advanced obedience is all about solid predictability and performance.  In the advanced course your dog will learn more advanced behaviors and start working off-lead. Your dog will also improve on the behaviors learned in previous training so that it achieves a greater level of self control. 

Class Duration: 6 Weeks  

Prerequisites: Completion of intermediate obedience class or permission from the trainer.
